Live Bait/Small Cut Bait Surf Rig
After years of trying different methods, rigs, hooks and wire, we have perfected the live bait rig for surf fishing. Made with 60lb mono and a 1 foot section of a soft knottable 40lb wire, this rig is the do it all live bait rig. The wire is thin enough that Spanish and Redfish won’t shy away from it but also strong enough that the smaller sharks won’t bite through it - we catch 6 foot finetooth sharks on this rig all the time, literally hundreds in a season. Barrel swivel to connect to main line - although we suggest cutting it off and using an FG knot if you know how to tie one.
